About the Financial Literacy Grant Workshops


The Community Financial Fund offers Financial Literacy Grant Workshops to UC Santa Barbara undergraduates during the Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters. Undergraduates can apply for the grant once per academic year.

These workshops offer a brief and general survey for financial literacy topics, including budgeting and savings, investments, credit, and retirement. Workshops are typically an hour-and-fifteen minutes, and are presented by members of the CFF Board.

Workshop attendees who pass the
post-workshop quiz, submit a qualifying
one-page essay addressing the prompt will be eligible for a $200 grant.

Requirements to receive the $200 grant!

Attend the workshop in full.

Students will sign up for workshops during the first
week of the quarter. Workshop assignments will be
sent to students by the CFF Chair. All workshops for
the 2025-26 academic year will be virtual.

Pass the Financial Literacy Quiz.

At the end of each workshop, students will be
asked to complete a short quiz based on the content. You must take, submit, and pass this quiz
to be eligible.

Submit your application and essay through the UCSB Fluxx Grant Application Portal on time!

Create a Fluxx profile, and submit the full
application. The essay must address the prompt
provided at the workshop, and must be typed,
one-full page with one-inch margins. No extensions will be granted.
